Rapid Expansion of Antiretroviral Therapy Programs for HIV-Infected Persons in Selected Countries in Africa and the Caribbean Under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief: CDC?s Procurement and Grants Office has published a program announcement entitled, ?Rapid Expansion of Antiretroviral Therapy Programs for HIV-Infected Persons in Selected Countries in Africa and the Caribbean.? Approximately $115,000,000 is available to fund between five and six awards to organizations providing, or assisting in providing, clinical care or care and treatment to HIV-infected persons with ART. The primary goal of the program will be to meet the President?s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief in treating two million HIV-infected people in 14 countries in Africa and the Caribbean in five years. The estimated funding award date is January 15, 2004.
