Additional Information on Eligibility
Eligibility is limited to youth, veteran, or conservation corps that are able to involve youth in Reclamation projects on a nation-wide basis. A qualified service and conservation corps means any program established by a State, or local government, by the governing body of any Indian tribe, or by a non-profit organization
Grant Description
The objectives of this Funding Opportunity Announcement are two-fold:Project Objectives:1. Develop a program to involve youth in cooperative efforts in cultural and natural resource conservation related to Reclamation projects. Individual projects may include, but are not limited to, building fences, building accessible fishing docks and piers, inventorying and documenting cultural resources, providing administrative support, operations and maintenance activities, enhancing visitor services, and developing fire management plans.2. Promote and stimulate public purposes such as education, job training, development of responsible citizenship, productive community involvement, and furthering the understanding and appreciation of natural and cultural resources through the involvement of youth and young adults in care and enhancement of public resources.Joint (Reclamation and Partner Organization) Program Objectives1. Design and implement conservation related projects.2. Provide educational programs to the young people working on the conservation related projects at Reclamation sites.3. Create a cooperative partnership to maximize the benefits from the projects accomplished by Reclamation and the partner organization.4. Complete all projects in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
