Refugia for Comal Springs Dryopid Beetles and Peck s Cave Amphipods: This is a notice of intent to award a single source cooperative agreement to BIO-WEST, Incorporated in accordance with the Department of Interior Policy 505 DM 2 (4) Unique Qualifications. No other applications will be reviewed. This funding opportunity is for research activities to enhance refugia populations of the endangered species of Comal Springs dryopid beetle and the endangered Peckâ¿¿s cave amphipod at the San Marcos Aquatic Resources Center. Research is needed to better understand juvenile development and maturation of Peckâ¿¿s cave amphipods and Comal Springs dryopid beetles. The San Marcos Aquatic Resources Center maintains these species in captivity but, in order to enhance refugium establishment and survival. requires additional information on life history. Research funded by this program will help increase amphipod and beetle pupation successfully into adults.
