Reprinting of Historical Nasa Publications: Statement of Purpose: NASA recognizes the power of strategic and mutually beneficial partnerships to improve efficiency and maximize its outreach to the public concerning NASA's programs. To this end, NASA seeks unfunded partnerships with organizations to help promote awareness of NASA's history. The purpose of this Announcement is to determine interest by non-government entities in reprinting NASA historical publications that were originally published by the Government Printing Office. NASA would benefit by having valuable historical publications available to the public, which will increase general awareness in the U.S. and abroad of NASA historical programs and activities; and respondents could benefit from enlarging their portfolio of aerospace publications and increasing sales worldwide. A complete listing of NASA History Series titles, as well as related historical publications not formally in the NASA History Series, is available from http://history.nasa.gov/series95.html online. Publications that are currently out-of-print are properly identified. NASA Contributions: NASA will provide any Partners with the following: (a) high-resolution electronic image and word processing text files, whenever feasible. (b) an errata sheet listing any errors that NASA is aware of for each title to be reprinted. (c) a review of any modifications and additions (including artwork and covers) proposed by the Partner for a reprint title in a reasonably timely manner. Approval of the final text is required by NASA, which will not be unreasonably withheld. General Information: Respondents will be responsible for financing their own activities, both in furnishing the information to respond to this Announcement and to undertake the responsibilities required to reprint and market out-of-print publications. No NASA funding is available for this purpose. All activities will be accomplished on a nonexclusive basis. Therefore, NASA may enter into similar arrangements for the same or similar purpose with other entities. NASA may enter into Space Act Agreements with respondents consistent with its authority under the National Aeronautics and Space Act, 51 U.S.C. § 20113(e).NASA seeks to provide for the widest practical and appropriate dissemination of information concerning NASA activities and the results thereof.
