Grant Description

This is a Request for Information (RFI), not a Funding Opportunity Announcement. The Department of Energy (DOE) is seeking information from industry, academia, and producers of cellulosic biofuels regarding the most beneficial and efficient way to consider implementation of Section 942 of EPAct. The information will be used by DOE for internal planning and decision making purposes relative to directing DOE to support such a program. The purpose of this Request for Information is solely for consideration in determining the most beneficial and efficient way to implement Section 942 of EPAct which authorizes a reverse auction to incentivize the production of cellulosic biofuels. This RFI is not an announcement for production incentives nor are there funds available for such incentives. Additionally, this RFI is not accepting applications for financial assistance or financial incentives. You are encouraged to carefully read the entire text of EPAct Section 942 prior to responding to this RFI. A link to the full Request for Information (RFI) and the text of EPAct Section 942 is found by scrolling to the bottom of this page. DOE will not pay for information provided under this RFI, and there is no guarantee that a reverse auction for cellulosic biofuels will be supported as a result of this RFI.
