All responsible, potential applicants from academia and industry are eligible to submit proposals. AFOSR particularly encourages proposals from small businesses; however, no portion of this BAA is set aside for a specific group. Federal agencies should contact the primary POCs listed under each technical area to discuss funding through the internal Government procedures.
Grant Description
AFOSR plans, coordinates, and executes the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) basic research program in response to technical guidance from AFRL and requirements of the Air Force; fosters, supports, and conducts research within Air Force, university, and industry laboratories; and ensures transition of research results to support USAF needs. The focus of AFOSR is on research areas that offer significant and comprehensive benefits to our national warfighting and peacekeeping capabilities. These areas are organized and managed in three scientific directorates: Aerospace, Chemical and Material Sciences (RSA), Physics and Electronics (RSE), and Mathematics, Information and Life Sciences (RSL). The research activities managed within each directorate are summarized in the BAA. ****************************************************************************************************************************************************** The FULL ANNOUNCEMENT is available on the Grants.gov website by scrolling to the top of the synopsis page and clicking on the "FULL ANNOUNCEMENT" box surrounded by the dotted line at the top of the page. ******************************************************************************************************************************************************* *Indirect Cost Limitation for Basic Research Awards Notice: The purpose of this notice is to make offerors aware of the Indirect Cost Limitation for Basic Research Awards as originally set forth in Section 8115 of the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2008 (P.L. 110-116) and subsequently included in following year Appropriation Acts. Section 8115 of the DoD Appropriations Act of 2008 (and subsequent Acts) limits payments of negotiated indirect cost rates on contracts, grants, and cooperative agreements (or similar arrangements), which are funded with FY 2008, FY 2009 and FY 2010 Basic Research appropriations and are awarded on or after November 14, 2007, to not more than 35 percent of the total cost of the instrument. This limitation also applies to any new award made by another Federal agency to a non-Federal entity on behalf of the DoD using FY 2008, FY 2009 and FY 2010 Basic Research appropriations.
