Research Opportunities in Stuttering (R01): The NIDCD is encouraging research in stuttering, a communication disorder characterized by dysfluencies in the flow of speech output. The primary objective of this program announcement is to stimulate basic, clinical and translational research in the area of stuttering. The NIDCD sponsored a workshop in March 2005 to summarize the science and identify opportunities for future research.
