Restore Endangered San Francisco Lessingia at Fort Funston: hTe Recipient and NPS will collaboratively undertake a project titled: Restore Endangered San Francisco Lessingia at Fort Funston, GGNRA. The goals of this project will be to reintroduce a viable population of San Francisco Lessingia (Lessingia germanorum), an endangered annual plant species, to Fort Funston, Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Major project tasks will include invasive plant management, native plant restoration, seed collection, plant propagation, volunteer stewardship, project planning, and associated reporting. Key tasks that will be completed as part of this project include: 1. Field collection of seeds and native plant propagation. 2. Native plant installation associated with general habitat restoration and endangered species habitat enhancement. 3. Management of high priority invasive species throughout the project area. 4. Support volunteer opportunities throughout the project area and fund full time interns.
