Role of Astrocytes and Astrocytic Networks in Drug Abuse (R01): Despite continuing advances in understanding astrocyte function within the CNS, little is known as to the impact of drugs of abuse on the structural organization and functional information encoded within astrocytic networks. The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to encourage the submission of applications to examine the effects of drugs of abuse on the structural connectivity of astrocytic networks within the CNS, and the generation, processing and spatiotemporal control of activities within these networks.
