Estimated total amount of agreement is $5,110,340.26 with Reclamation providing $680,000.00 for Fiscal Year 2014. The objectives of the project are to: 1) Create new side channels and modify existing side channels to create and/or improve rearing and spawning habitats for the juvenile life stages of anadromous salmonids in the Sacramento River; 2) Place spawning-sized gravel into various locations, and place woody material and boulders, as appropriate, into the Sacramento River according to project plans; and 3) Conduct pre-and post-placement site surveys to document the effectiveness of projects in improving salmonid spawning and rearing habitat. (Refer to the Notice of Intent to Award Announcement No. R14AN20021 for additional information) A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed financial assistance based upon Departmental Manual 505 DM 2, paragraph 2.14(B)(2) & (4) is solely within the discretion of the Government.
