Second Generation Dark Matter Experiments: The Office of High Energy Physics (OHEP) at the U. S. Department of Energy?s Office of Science, hereby announce their interest in receiving new grant applications for support of experiments dedicated to the direct detection of dark matter. Only those experiments qualifying as ?second-generation? experiments will be considered, i.e., those with the capability to improve by at least an order of magnitude our current knowledge of physical dark matter parameters. Applications selected in response to this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) will be funded in FY13 for one year of research and development (R&D) and pre-conceptual design.
