Small Business Innovation Research Competing Renewal Awards for Biomedical and Behavior Research Tools (SBIR [R44]): -Purpose. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant applications that propose to continue the process of developing complex instrumentation, clinical research tools, or behavioral interventions and treatments. This FOA specifically encourages applications for the competing renewal of previously funded Phase II SBIR grants to further develop the aforementioned types of technologies. -Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the SBIR Phase II (R44) grant mechanism. This FOA runs in parallel with an FOA affiliated with the NIH Blueprint for Neuroscience Research, PA-08-056, Competing Renewal Awards of SBIR Phase II Grants for Brain and Behavior Tools. -Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. Budgets of up to $800,000 total costs per year for up to 3 years may be requested.
