Social Science Research in Population and Reproductive Health: The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking concept papers from qualified U.S and other non-profit non-Governmental Organization (NGOs) for a program titled "Social Science Research in Population and Reproductive Health" for funding of Cooperative Agreements. USAID anticipates awarding up to ten (10) Cooperative Agreements for a period of five (5) years with a total maximum ceiling of up to $5 million each. The ceiling of each agreement will be determined by funds available and activities proposed. USAID reserves the right to fund applications in part if needed. Applicants are encouraged to provide a 10% cost share. The purpose of this APS is to publicize the United States Government's (USG) plan to fund a limited number of awards through USAID/ Washington's Office of Population and Reproductive Health (PRH) to support research on a focused set of population, family planning, and reproductive health (FP/RH) issues. The awards under this APS will improve understanding of a range of social science and behavioral issues related to contraceptive use and fertility. This APS will address the following focus areas: Increasing age of marriage; Increasing understanding and need for contraception and discontinuation of contraception; Optimizing reach and effectiveness of community health workers; Scalable interventions to address gender norms and behaviors related to FP/RH and gender-based violence (GBV); and Integrating (GBV) prevention activities in FP/RH Programs.
