Spatial Analysis for Species Recovery and Habitat Restoration: This project will develop habitat maps, spatial models of species habitat suitability, and habitat restoration maps to enable the Service, private institutions, and other cooperators to effectively develop, implement and monitor habitat conservation strategies and habitat restoration projects. The work for this project will be conducting spatial analysis and mapping to support develop of restoration projects, species recovery and management plans, and ecological evaluations for both terrestrial and aquatic species. Assist project cooperators (State and private cooperators, FWS staff) with ecological modeling for Siskiyou Mountains Salamander, Northern Spotted Owl, Fisher, anadromous fish, and other terrestrial and aquatic species. Use GIS to assist with development of prioritization models for habitat restoration planning. This work benefits interagency and non-governmental participation in recovery planning ($15,000) and large-scale planning of habitat restoration efforts ($10,000) for a number of terrestrial and aquatic species which are Federal and Tribal Trust responsibilities. 1.
