- The Corporation announces the availability of $4,000.000 for Special Volunteer Program grants for the purpose of strengthening community efforts in support of homeland security. Awards will be made to organizations proposing well-planned activities and ongoing roles to engage community members, especially those age 55 and over, as volunteers to strengthen the nation's ability to mitigate, respond to, and prepare for emergencies and disasters, both man-made and natural.
