Springs Preserve Refugia Ponds for Pahrump Poolfish and Relict Leopard Frogs: The purpose of this project is to create additional habitat for the Pahrump poolfish (Empetricthys latos) and relict leopard frog (Rana onca) by installing and activating electrical infrastructure at two ponds at the Springs Preserve in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both the Pahrump poolfish and relict leopard frog are endemic to southern Nevada. The Pahrump poolfish has been federally listed as an endangered species since 1967. The relict leopard frog was thought to be extinct for over 40 years until it was rediscovered in the 1990s. It is a state-protected species, and after being petitioned to list the species under the Endangered Species Act, the Service determined it was not warranted for listing in 2016
