. Non-profit, non-governmental organizations with a nationwide organizational infrastructure of pathologists and the capacity to bring together pathologists, cancer registration experts, anatomic pathology laboratory information system vendors, terminology, and informatics experts in order to attain consensus on the encoding and computerization of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) cancer checklists, the mapping to cancer registration data items, and a time line for carrying out these activities.
Grant Description
The purpose of the program is to promote the use of a controlled medical vocabulary and the computerization and use of an encoded synoptic pathology report to support the collection of complete and timely data for cancer surveillance.
