Standards Development and Maintenance for Cancer Surveillance: PA03121 Summary FedBizOpps/Sec Forecast CDC?s Procurement and Grants Office has published a program announcement entitled, ?Standards Development and Maintenance for Cancer Surveillance.? Approximately $900,000 is available to fund two awards; $600,000 is available to fund one award for Part I of the program, and $300,000 is available to fund one award for Part II of the program. Eligible applicants are non-profit, non-governmental organizations with a nationwide capacity to bring together cancer registry standard-setting organizations, central cancer registries, hospital cancer registries, and software developers in order to standardize medical vocabularies and structures for encoding the content of pathology reports to promote consistent pathology reporting throughout the United States. The purpose of the program is to promote the development and maintenance of standards, which can be utilized by the National Program of Cancer Registries (NCPR). The estimated funding award date is September 15, 2003.
