Strengthen Capacity of the Ministry of Community Development, Mother and Child Health to Support National Coordination of HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment and Related Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health Serv at: The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) in Zambia is to strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Community Development Mother and Child Health (MCDMCH) to provide program leadership, coordination and supportive supervision at District, Facility and community levels for various Primary Health Care Services including HIV and MNCH related programs.
To reduce the national MTCT rate from 12% to less than 2% by 2020
Increased national MC prevalence from baseline of 17% to at least 80% by 2020
To reduce TB related mortality among HIV infected patients from 5% to less than 2% by 2020
Increase the number of people in the general population who are tested for HIV from 13% to 70% by 2020

- This Funding Opportunity Announcement is single sourced to the Ministry of Community Development Mother and Child Health (MCDMCH) as it is the only government Ministry that has the mandate to oversee and manage service delivery at the district level in the Republic of Zambia. The Ministry's mandate was expanded to include health service delivery at district, facility and community levels. As a result, oversight for the implementation of HIV prevention, and support programs has moved from the Ministry of Health (MOH) to MCDMCH.
