Strengthening Domestic Observation of Parliamentary Elections in Albania: The main purpose of “Strengthening Domestic Observation of Parliamentary Elections” is to reinforce the legitimacy of electoral processes and increase public confidence by assessing the June 2017 Parliamentary Elections for compliance with international standards and national legislation for democratic elections. USAID/Albania has regularly supported the organization and administration of elections in Albania, aiming to increase efficiency and transparency. This approach is also consistent with USAID/Albania's Results Framework which works to strengthen rule of law and responsive governance. The engagement and the strengthened role of the Civil Society in monitoring election processes is a crucial ingredient for successful, free, fair and transparent elections. This activity will work to promote the use of Statistical Based Observation (SBO) to maximize election observation effectiveness with limited resources.
