- The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bangladesh is issuing this Request for Application (RFA) for a five-year Cooperative Agreement titled Strengthening Electoral Governance (SEG) to help consolidate and enhance electoral democracy in Bangladesh. The purpose of this program is to foster political competition and legitimacy in Bangladesh by enhancing the autonomy and integrity of the country's electoral governance. The SEG program focuses on building sustainable institutional capacity of the Bangladesh Election Commission (BEC) especially in the areas of staffing, training and oversight. Civil society organizations are also recognized in this program as key players in electoral governance given their role as advocates for reform and monitors of the electoral process. The SEG program also intents to provide targeted legal, technical and operational advice to promote and protect the integrity of electoral governance in Bangladesh.
