Strengthening HIV Strategic Information Activities in the Republic of Senegal under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR): The purpose of this NOFO is to enhance the capacity for the Senegal Ministry of Health and Social Action (MHSA) to monitor the progression of the HIV epidemic. Primary objectives of the NOFO are to strengthen strategic information (SI) activities and expand the national HIV case-based surveillance (CBS) system.Expected activities for strengthening SI activities include:increasing the capacity of the MHSA to manage, analyze, and use CBS data for HIV control program planning and implementationincreasing the capacity of the MHSA to monitor and assess the impact of interventionsExpected activities for improving and expanding the national HIV CBS system include:establishing national guidelines for case reportingdeveloping and/or enhancing the CBS system to capture newly diagnosed HIV cases and their subsequent sentinel events to enable routine analysis of individual-level dataimplementing use of the CBS system at HIV testing and care and treatment sitesdeveloping a system of unique identifiers to track and deduplicate individual casesproviding training and supportive supervision to providers who report HIV casesinterfacing laboratory information systems with the CBS system
