Strengthening Strategic Information, Program Implementation and Capacity Building in order to Reduce Morbidity and Mortality in the Republic of South Africa under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR): This NOFO aims to inform evidence-based policies to improve program impact and efficiencies as outlined in the National Strategic Plan (NSP) on HIV, TB and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) 2017-2022, Survey and Surveillance roadmap for South Africa and the COP18 PEPFAR Strategic Direction Summary to support sustained epidemic control. This NOFO will support collection, generation, interpretation, and utilization of high-quality strategic information (SI) to measure the progress of the South Africa Government (SAG) prevention and care and treatment programs towards 95/95/95 to attain HIV epidemic control. This information will strengthen and monitor programs in: general, high risk, and key populations.The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) will utilize evidenced-based and innovative approaches such as evaluations, surveys to:Design and implement timely activities to collect HIV and TB related testing, linkages, and retention data in adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), men and other defined populations to support sustainable prevention, care and treatment programs.Routinely collect, analyze, interpret, and disseminate mortality data from vital statistics to improve surveillance of HIV and TB related mortality through collaborative approaches with stakeholders in a timely manner.SAMRC will prioritize the generation of timely and relevant evidence to inform policy and improve program implementation.
