Additional Information on Eligibility: The National AIDS Control Committee (NACC) is uniquely qualified to fulfill the requirements set forth in this funding opportunity announcement because it is the only organization mandated by the Government of Cameroon (GOC) to coordinate HIV/AIDS activities in Cameroon, including those related to prevention, care and treatment, strategic information and monitoring and evaluation.
Grant Description: The purpose of this announcement is to assist in the strengthening of the coordination role of Cameroon's National AIDS Control Committee (NACC), with a particular focus on prevention of HIV infection in health-care settings. Specifically, this project aims to: - Build Cameroon's capacity to ensure a safe blood supply, in line with the WHO Aide Memoire on Blood Safety; - Strengthen laboratory services through implementation of a National Strategic Laboratory Plan (NSLP); - Improve the quality and expand the scale of activities to prevent mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV; - Enhance the collection and use of strategic information (SI) for program and policy development through support for surveillance, monitoring and evaluation, and operational research; and Reduce the burden of HIV-TB co-infection and medical transmission of HIV through support for universal Infection Prevention and Infection Control (IP/IC) policies and practices.
