Additional Information on Eligibility: The State AIDS Project Cell was formed in Tamil Nadu, India, in January 1993 and was initially functioning under the Control of the Director of Medical Education, Chennai. The State AIDS Project Cell was re-constituted as the Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TNSACS) and registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act. TNSACS has been mandated by The Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare to address the problem of AIDS in Tamil Nadu
Grant Description: The purpose of this announcement is to provide funding for a cooperative agreement with the Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TNSACS), to provide technical and capacity development support for activities that will strengthen the National AIDS Control Program of the State of Tamil Nadu, the Government Hospital for Thoracic Medicine (GHTM) and other public sector care centers in Tamil Nadu.
