Study of the U.S. for Foreign Secondary School Educators: The Branch for the Study of the U.S., Office of Academic Exchange Programs, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, announces an open competition for public and private non-profit organizations to develop and implement the Study of the United States Institute for Foreign Secondary Educators. This Institute, for a multinational group of 30 experienced foreign secondary educators (including teacher trainers, curriculum developers and education ministry officials), is intended to provide participants with a deeper understanding of American life and institutions, past and present, in order to strengthen curricula and to improve the quality of teaching about the United States at secondary schools and teacher trainer institutions abroad. The institute should be organized around a central theme or themes in U.S. civilization and should have a strong contemporary component.
