Summer Institute for Training in Biostatistics II (T15): The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) invites applications for training grants to develop, conduct, and evaluate summer courses in the basic principles and methods of biostatistics as employed in biomedical research. The courses will introduce advanced undergraduates, recent graduates, and beginning graduate students to the field of biostatistics for the purpose of encouraging them to pursue careers in biostatistics. The courses should cover the fundamental concepts of probability, statistical reasoning and inferential methods motivated, in part, by examples that include data collected in studies of heart, lung, blood, and sleep disorders. The courses would be taught during the summers of 2013, 2014, 2015 with appropriate modifications or refinements following each of the first two summer sessions.
