Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program: NIST is soliciting applications from eligible colleges and universities in the U.S. and its territories, nominating undergraduate students to participate in the SURF Program. The SURF Program will provide research opportunities for undergraduate students to work with NIST scientists and engineers, to expose the students to cutting-edge research and promote the pursuit of graduate degrees in science and engineering.

Additional Information on Eligibility
Colleges and universities (includes 2-year and 4-year institutions) in the U.S. and its territories with degree-granting programs in biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, materials science, mathematics, nanoscale science, neutron research, and/or physics. Due to the size of SURF Boulder, applicants that apply to SURF Boulder are limited to nominating no more than eight (8) undergraduate students for participation. SURF Gaithersburg does not have an applicant limit at this time. Each undergraduate student nominated to participate in the SURF Program from the applicant college or university must meet the requirements in Section III.1. of the NOFO/Full Announcement.
