Support for Local Governance, Elections and Civil Society - Timor Leste: The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is seeking applications (proposals for funding) from U.S. or non-U.S. non-profit or for-profit nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), public international organizations (PIO or IO), and other non-USG organizations to implement a program to provide support for credible, peaceful and fair suco council and possibly also municipal and national elections and to enhance the capacity of newly-elected suco councils to strengthen citizen participation in village and municipal governance, including local decision-making, information-gathering and -dissemination, as well as conflict prevention and mitigation in Timor Leste.
