Support of Advanced Coal Research at United States Colleges and Universities: For 35 years through the University Coal Research (UCR) program, the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOEs) Office of Fossil Energy and the National Energy Technology Laboratory have solicited applications from U.S. colleges and universities. Annually, through this Funding Opportunity Announcement, research is sought to advance the science and technology of coal conversion and utilization.
