Task Agreement to the GGNPC for Exhibit and Retail Fixture Design Development and Planning Documents for the William Penn Mott Visitor Center at the Presidio: The William Penn Mott Presidio Visitor Center is scheduled to open in historic Building 201, a former Provost Office on the north side of the parade ground in the Main Post of the San Francisco Presidio in summer of 2016, to coincide with the NPS Centennial. This project is being developed as an equal partnership between the National Park Service, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, and the Presidio Trust. This new facility will primarily function as a portal to experiences throughout the Presidio, welcoming and orienting visitors, facilitating trip planning, serving as a start-point for Presidio tours and other visitor programs, and providing a gathering place for visitors and local residents. The new exhibits and integral interpretive retail will convey the significance and impart the breadth of the Presidio, and will link to other sites and other Park Partners where themes or elements will be explored in greater depth. It will also set the context for the Presidio in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and serve a secondary function of welcoming visitors to the resources of the GGNRA.

The Conceptual and Schematic exhibit design phases of this project are already nearing completion. This specific Task Agreement is for partnership Design Development and Construction Document design packages, to allow NPS to contract for fabrication (separate from this Task Agreement).
