Additional Information on Eligibility: Application A: This award will result in Grants with the Food and Nutrition Serice, USDA. State agencies that administer the National School Lunch /School Breakfast Programs and/or Child and Adult Care Food Program are eligible to apply under Application A. Application B: This award will result in Cooperative Agreements with the Food and Nutrition Service, USDA. Because the local wellness policy pertains only to schools, State agencies that administer the National School Lunch /School Breakfast Programs are eligible to apply. FNS will be actively involved through an FNS/State cooperative agreement and will oversee the Demonstration Projects throughout the project period.
Grant Description: Application A: Up to $2 million will be used to fund the traditional State TN Training Grants and the funding period will be for two years, September 30, 2006 - September 30, 2008. The maximum amount of funding awarded to an individual State will be $200,000. Application B: Up to $2 million will be used to fund the Team Nutrition Local Wellness Demonstration Projects. State agencies that receive this award will enter into a cooperative agreement with the Food and Nutrition Service for a period of three years, September 30, 2006 - September 30, 2009. The maximum amount of funding awarded to an individual State is up to $500,000. See the Requests for Applications for details.
