Grant Description: The purpose of this Request for Applications is to provide technical assistance, training and limited commodity support to womens groups in Niger in order to achieve the results envisioned under the WARP Strategic Objective for Food Security (SO 7): Food security and natural resource management policies and programs strengthened and implemented, and (SO 5): Regional economic integration strengthened in West Africa. In addition, results should support the US Missions Performance Goals 2 (Economic Growth) and 4 (Improved Food Security and Global Health), and the Government of Nigers PRSP Objective Number 2 (Development of productive sectors, especially in rural areas), specifically in the regions of Dosso (North of Dogon Doutchi), Tillabery (Filingui), and Tahoua (West of Illila). The recipients primary clients will be the Nigerien Ministry of Animal Resources (MRA), USAID/Bamako and the US Mission in Niger.
