Technical Assistance in the Wenatchee, Entiat, and Methow Sub-basins: WDFW staff will play an important role in the prioritization, design, and implementation of habitat improvement projects through participation in the Upper Columbia Regional Technical Team and the Grant and Chelan County Tributary Habitat Committees. WDFW biologists and research scientists bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the CSRO's project team(s) addressing knowledge gaps which may limit our understanding of important habitat requirements. The technical expertise provided by WDFW is critical to the success of Reclamation's habitat projects. PROJECT DETAILS: The WDFW staff will provide support to Reclamation through technical assistance specifically in the completion of the following tasks: • Assistance with integrating existing biological knowledge and expertise into the development of habitat improvement projects within the Wenatchee, Entiat, and Methow watersheds. • Provide biological knowledge and expertise towards prioritizing, developing, and implementing of monitoring strategies for habitat improvement projects within the Wenatchee, Entiat, and Methow watersheds. • Assist in the development, permitting, and implementation of Middle Entiat habitat improvement projects through participation in the Middle Entiat Tech Team and Design Team. • Perform steelhead redd surveys in project areas where project construction may impact egg-to-fry survival. Utilize spring Chinook redd survey data to determine potential project construction impacts on egg-to-fry survival.
