The American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar: United States Department of the Interior National Park Service (NPS) Notice of Intent to Award. This funding announcement is to provide public notice of the NPS's intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition by Task Agreement J4840100305 under Cooperative Agreement H4800080301 with the Cooperator the American Civil War Center (ACWC) at Historic Tredegar (formerly the Tredegar National Civil War Center Foundation). Under Congressional Act (49 Sat 1155) the Richmond National Battlefield Park was established in 1936. As part of the NPS Richmond National Battlefield Park management plan the Tredegar Iron Works was selected as a downtown Richmond National Battlefield site. The NPS and the ACWC work to ensure the preservation of the Tredegar Iron Works, a National Historic Landmark. The ACWC is the managing entity of the Tredegar Iron Works site. The ACWC is a 501(c) (3) corporation incorporated on July 7, 2000. The ACWC has raised $13.6 million in capital funding for adaptive reuse of the historic Tredegar Gun Foundry, itself an extraordinary Civil War artifact built in 1861. The NPS Richmond National Battlefield Park Visitor's Center is located in the ACWC at Historic Tredegar. NPS will provide $65,000.00 in financial assistance under Task Agreement J4840100305.
