The Coastal Program: The Coastal Program provides financial and technical assistance for coastal habitat conservation. Projects are generally limited to the 16 Coastal Program focus areas: Albemarle/Pamlico Sound, NC; Chesapeake Bay, MD/PA/VA; Delaware Bay; Florida Gulf Coast; Galveston Bay, TX; Great Lakes; Gulf of Maine; Oregon Coast; Pacific Islands; Puget Sound, WA; San Francisco Bay, CA; South Carolina Coast; South Central and South East Alaska; South Florida/Everglades; Southern California/San Diego Bay; and Southern New England/New York Bight. Projects may include habitat assessment and habitat restoration. Applicants need to contact their specific Coastal Program office. The Coastal Program is being funded at $11.6 million in FY 2005; of this amount about half, $5.8, will be available for on-the-ground project funding.
