The Interaction of HIV, Drug Use, and the Criminal Justice System (R01): -Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the National Institutes of Health (NIH) research project grant (R01) granting mechanism with the following modification: -Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. In response to this RFA, the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) intends to commit approximately $1.5 million dollars in FY2009 to fund 2 to 4 new awards. -Budget and Project Period. Budgets for direct costs of up to $500,000 per year and a project duration of up to 5 years may be requested.
