The Regents University of California: These funds will be used to develop and test a waterbird habitat assessment protocol to address Central Valley and Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge management objectives. Central Valley Klamath Basin Refuges are the following: Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge Complex, Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge Complex, Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge Complex, San Luis National Wildlife Refuge Complex and Kern National Wildlife Refuge Complex. Data on vegetation and habitat attributes that is collected during the survey will be used by the partners in this agreement to calculate Seed Production Index, which is used to assess the food value of habitat provided by wetland units to migratory waterbirds.
