- Funding is available through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Aquatic Nuisance Species Program to support projects that implement the Aquatic Nuisance Species Task Force "National Management Plan for the Genus Eriocheir (Mitten Crab)" (NMP), dated November 2003. The NMP can be obtained via email from Erin_Williams@fws.gov. Priorities for implementation are outlined in the NMP and successful applicants must indicate how their proposal assists in furthering the management of mitten crabs in the United States. Examples of projects that have been previously funded include looking at predation on salmonid eggs, education and outreach in other estuaries, and burrowing impacts of mitten crabs.
