Trail Preservation Project: National Monument. The existing trail is in disrepair, with failing retaining walls, rotted steps, slick and muddy tread, and exposed roots. The trail will remain in its historic alignment, but will be replaced with a set of brand new switchbacks, built to last another 100 years.
