Training and Educational Opportunities for Services Relating to Natural Resources Conservation or Recreation Management in Jackson County, OR: The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District (USACE)intends to enter into a cooperative agreement with a non-Federal public entityor nonprofit organization for land stewardship and restoration services on USACEland in the Rogue River Basin. This cooperativeagreement will assist NWP in fulfilling environmental stewardshipresponsibilities consisting of restoration and management of native prairielandscapes and wildlife habitat while providing education and trainingopportunities to the recipient's participants in the local Jackson County,Oregon community. These education andtraining opportunities exist through the need for natural resource andmaintenance services on USACE lands located at the Rogue River Basin Project(Lost Creek Lake, Elk Creek, and Applegate Dam). The goals and objectives of this cooperativeagreement are for the implementation of best natural resources managementpractices with regards to environmental stewardship, high and low densityrecreation areas, and operations/facilities maintenance. Environmental and maintenance services includebut are not limited to: Dam and Flood Control Structure Maintenance Vegetation Management Park and Trail Maintenance Vegetation Planting Litter Control Fencing Installation and Repair Trail Construction and Maintenance This cooperative agreement will be awarded pursuant to 33USC 2339(a) Conservation and Recreation Management. The recipient forthis cooperative agreement must be a qualified non-Federal public entity ornonprofit organization that serves low security inmates and/or individualsexecuting community service sentences with the Jackson County Community JusticeDepartment and has experience in land stewardship and restoration using small workcrews supervised by experienced leaders so that ecological concepts can beaccurately conveyed to work crew and leaders.
