Grant Description
The Corporation for National and Community Service is an independent Federal grant-making agency that supports a range of volunteer services programs, including AmeriCorps, Senior Corps and Learn and Serve America. Under this notice, the Corporation expects to make grants, under cooperative agreements, of over $12 million in funds to national providers of training and technical assistance (T&TA) to these Corporation-funded programs. Awards will be made in 16 areas of training and technical assistance, in which funding amounts will range from approximately $100,000 to $1,540,000 annually for cooperative agreements of up to three years. Only one of the sixteen grants will require cost sharing. The selected grantees will provide training and technical assistance and clearing house services, supporting the Corporation in building the capacity of local programs and organizations that use service and volunteering to meet community needs, including service-learning. Providers will use the awards to deliver training and technical assistance in specified areas to the Corporations grantees and subgrantees. The 16 areas of T&TA are: (1) participant recruitment and development; (2) leveraging additional volunteers; (3) community engagement and strengthening; (4) resource and fund development; (5) performance measurement and evaluation; (6) financial and grants management; (7) disability inclusion; (8) eGrants training and technical assistance; (9) the Resource Center; (10) the National Service-Learning Clearinghouse; (11) technical assistance to state commissions; (12) technical assistance for specific learning communities; (13) education success and mentoring; (14) independent living; (15) coordinating service learning programs; and (16) technical assistance for faith-based and community initiatives. The grant competition is open to state and local government entities, non-profit organizations, including faith- and community-based organizations, higher education institutions, Indian tribes, and commercial entities.
