Tri-colored Blackbird Movements and Connectedness in the Kern River Valley, California: Recipient Southern Sierra Research Station will place new generation Motus nanotags on 30 Tri-colored Blackbirds (TRBL) captured at two different colony sites in the Kern River Valley to track TRBL movement using permanent Motus stations to be built and positioned this year. Recipient will also obtain more precise movements using a Yagi antenna and handheld telemetry receiver, and will take habitat measurements in breeding and foraging habitat. Feathers from captured TRBLs will be contributed to the Bird Genoscape Project for their TRBL genetic connectivity study.
