- Grant Description
- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) proposes to enter into a Cooperative Agreement for an estimated $50,000 with the State of Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI) for the purpose of strengthening, enhancing, and maintaining the State earthquake hazard reduction programs. By supporting and improving State earthquake programs, FEMA goal is to reduce the loss of life and property from damaging earthquakes. Under Public Law 95-124, as amended, Congress established the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program (NEHRP). Under this reauthorization FEMA is directed to operate a program of assistance to States to accomplish various eligible earthquake mitigation activities. This funding opportunity will support that responsibility by providing assistance to develop seismic mitigation plans. Funded activities shall be determined through individual negotiations between FEMA and the State of Oregon DOGAMI. Projects or initiatives that are eligible for funding under this announcement may not involve Geospatial (GIS) issues.
