By supporting and improving State earthquake programs, FEMA goal is to reduce the loss of life and property from damaging earthquakes. Under Public Law 95-124, as amended, Congress established the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program (NEHRP). Under this reauthorization FEMA is directed to operate a program of assistance to States to accomplish various eligible earthquake mitigation activities. This funding opportunity will support that responsibility by providing assistance to develop seismic mitigation plans. Funded activities shall be determined through individual negotiations between FEMA and the State of Oregon DOGAMI.
