Twomile Creek Watershed Restoration: This is a notice of intent to award a single source cooperative agreement to the Superior Watershed Partnership and Land Trust under justification 505DM 2.14B (4) to provide financial support for overseeing, facilitating, and ensuring the replacement of an undersized and perched culvert with a bottomless arch structure on Twomile Creek at Ontonagon County Road 527. Twomile Creek is a high priority watershed in the Ottawa National Forest and is a coldwater stream that supports several native fish species, including brook trout. This project is being coordinated with several other aquatic habitat remediation projects across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that the Superior Watershed Partnership and Land Trust is overseeing and implementing, and thus, competition for the award is not practical. The Superior Watershed Partnership and Land Trust is uniquely qualified to complete the activities of this project. Substantial involvement on the part of the Service is anticipated for the successful completion of this project and will include being involved in all steps of planning, surveying, and design pre-construction, as well as providing on-site construction assistance, and post-construction monitoring.
