U.S. Embassy Kabul Women's Economic Participation Research Project: This grant will fund one comprehensive study of Afghan women's economic activity throughout the country. The purpose of the study is to create as complete as possible a picture of the totality of Afghan women's work, in the form of: 1. a map identifying key areas of women's participation throughout the country, 2. a detailed report, and 3. a directory of businesses either owned by Afghan women or employing large numbers of them. Proposals should clearly demonstrate that the grantee has the organizational capacity to conduct research throughout the country and include a description of the proposed methodology. A combination of original research and analysis of existing studies and statistics is desired. Samples of the organization's previous work, particularly in economics or market research, are highly encouraged, in addition to resumes/CVs of key research and administrative personnel.
