Grant Description
This Scholarship and Fellowship program allows students to pursue an education in science, engineering, or other fields of study that the NRC determines as critical skill areas related to its regulatory mission. Recipients need to be enrolled in a professional degree or graduate program offered by an accredited 4-year institution of higher education in the United States. This notice announces that proposals may be submitted for a Scholarship or Fellowship program to be supported by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Office of Human Resources, Scholarship and Fellowship Program. This program fulfills the intent of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 that the NRC establish a program to enable students to study, for at least 1 academic semester or equivalent term in: Civil Engineering - Construction Information Technology Security Electrical Engineering Digital I&C Materials Engineering Electrical Engineering Generation Metallurgy Fire Protection Engineering Nuclear Engineering Fracture Mechanics Reactor Physics Geochemistry Statistics Geotechnical Engineering Structural Engineering - Construction Health Physics Telecommunications Security Hydrogeology Thermal-Hydraulics Hydrology Total funding estimates are $400,000 with no single award exceeding $50,000. No awards will be made directly to students. Students cannot apply directly to NRC for scholarships.
