Grant Description
USAID/OFDA's mandate is to save lives, alleviate human suffering, and reduce the economic and social impact of disasters worldwide. In order to facilitate the achievement of this goal, implementing partners providing humanitarian assistance must be able to effectively manage their own security needs. In FY 08, OFDA's strategy will be to increase the NGO community's awareness of generally recognized good security practices, build their capacity to implement good practices, improve institutional support for comprehensive security management, and promote appropriate collaboration among humanitarian actors. OFDA is soliciting applications under this APS to implement this strategy. OFDA encourages applications that propose creative, innovative and "cutting-edge" initiatives.
