United States Newspaper Project: Through its United States Newspaper Program (USNP), NEH supports the cataloging and preservation microfilming of newspapers published in this country since the eighteenth century. Projects are conducted on a state-by-state basis. NEH does not support the preservation or cataloging of United States newspapers outside the purview of a statewide USNP project. Applicants should consult NEH staff before preparing an application that focuses on U.S. newspapers. For more information about this program, contact the Division of Preservation and Access at 202-606-8570 or [email protected].
