Upper Arkansas River NRDAR: In-stream Habitat Restoration on Private Lands: This synopsis is the full announcement. The purpose of the agreement is to provide financial assistance to restore, rehabilitate, replace, or acquire the equivalent of trust resources that were injured or destroyed by the hazardous substance release(s) from the California Gulch Superfund site, pursuant to the requirements of the Consent Decree, and applicable federal and state laws and regulations. Restoration actions to be implemented in the Arkansas River and the Lake Fork will stabilize stream banks, create diverse stream morphology, and enhance riparian habitats. Specific actions will enhance riparian habitat, reduce erosion/sedimentation into the stream channels, decrease temperatures, and improve and create diverse in-stream habitat. The recipient will provide overall management, supervision, and coordination for the Arkansas River and Lake Fork Creek Private In-stream Habitat Restoration project. Matching funds will not be required but will be encouraged.
